![]() ![]() This official companion to the film “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” offers one an unforgettable illustrated glimpse into the fascinating peoples and places of Middle-Earth, as seen on the big screen. The must-have, comprehensive guide to go with the Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey film I really enjoyed reading this book because it made me feel in the story I almost felt as if I was a part of the quest to take back the mountain. The theme of this book is overall bravery, The reason I say this is because time and time again the book shows how bravery and courage are super important. There was an all-out battle between the dwarves and Smaug for control over the mountain. Gandalf the wizard picked up Bilbo who didn’t want to go on the quest at first, but by the end of the book he ended up being the hero. That is when Smaug attacked Erebor and took it over, this was the cause of the curse of being greedy. Thorin's father ruled over Erebor however he got cursed with greed and wanted everything for himself. Dwarves made all the gold and forced all the weapons in previous years. Another reason is all the gold that dragon Smaug is keeping for his own, righteously belongs to the Dwarves. Inside the mountain is filled with gold which turns anyone who rules greedy and keeps it to themselves.Īn overall summary of the book is the 12 dwarves led by Thorin are on a quest to take back the Erebor Mountain which they originate from. Lastly, Smaug is a greedy dragon who loves the lonely mountain because of its gold resources. Gandalf is a wise wizard who chooses Bilbo to come along on the quest he saw something in Bilbo, that Bilbo did not even see in himself. Thorin Oakenshield is the leader of the dwarves, who are on a quest to take back Erebor Mountain from the dragon Smaug. Such as keeping the garden, writing stories, and hosting parties. Bilbo Baggins the main character was just a simple regular hobbit who didn’t do much with themselves besides maintaining their own belongings. ![]() There are a lot of characters in this book, however, the important characters are Bilbo Baggings, Thorin Oakenshield, Smaug, and Gandalf.
